Course Overview

AFDA (Algebra, Functions, and Data Analysis) is a bridge course between Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. It focuses on using mathematical modeling to solve real-world problems involving data, probability, and finance.

Goal: To connect math concepts to real life through data analysis and functions (linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic).

Required Materials

Class Routine & Flow

1. Start of Class Come in, grab your paper, pencil, and Chromebook. Be ready to work!
2. Warm Up Complete 1-2 problems on the board. We will discuss these together.
3. Main Lesson I use slides and examples on the board. Please take notes during this time.
4. Practice Work on a practice worksheet (Independent or Group work).
5. Closing Complete the Exit Ticket to show what you learned.

Submitting Work: All work must be turned into the tray or handed directly to me to be graded.

Policies & Support

Late Work Policy: I will accept assignments up to one week late; after that, it is considered missed.

Attendance: Regular attendance is critical for an 8-week course. Please communicate any absences via email promptly. If you communicate ahead of time, I can have materials ready for you upon your return.

Make-Up Work: Fridays are the best days for making up material/tutoring, but we can be flexible to accommodate your schedule as needed.

Accommodations: If you have specific needs (larger fonts, printed notes, preferential seating), please let me know immediately so I can ensure you have the tools to succeed.

Professional Conduct: A respectful and focused environment is required. Please be respectful of everyone's time and limit personal device usage to breaks.
