Evacuate
Signal: Fire Alarm or Announcement
  1. STOP all activities immediately.
  2. LEAD students via primary route.
  3. TAKE roster & emergency kit.
  4. CLOSE door (DO NOT LOCK).
  5. GO TO: Old Melrose Fire House Lot.
  6. TAKE ATTENDANCE immediately.
Lockdown
Signal: "Lockdown, Lockdown, Lockdown"
  1. GET IN. Pull hallway students in.
  2. LOCK the door immediately.
  3. COVER door window. LIGHTS OFF.
  4. MOVE to safe corner (out of sight).
  5. SILENCE phones and voices.
  6. WAIT for admin with key.
Shelter
Signal: "Shelter-in-Place"
  1. LEAD to shelter area: English Room 2.
  2. TAKE roster.
  3. GET DOWN. "Tuck and cover" against wall.
  4. ACCOUNT for all students.
  5. WAIT for "All Clear" signal.
Medical
Signal: Medical Distress
  1. STAY CALM. Assess safety.
  2. CALL HELP. Use call button or send runner.
  3. GIVE INFO. Location & nature of emergency.
  4. CLEAR SPACE. Keep students back.
  5. ASSIST only if certified.
